Summer Print Promotion and Website Updates

I’m very excited to start shooting summer sessions, so here’s a special print promotion I decided to run just for the summer!

For every 11×14 print (or larger) that you order between June 1st and September 15th, 2007, you will receive a complimentary 5×7 print of the same image!
*Applies to current as well as past child and family photography sessions.
And here’s some pictures I’ve been meaning to share! I teach this little guy gymnastics each week and we work really hard making his “muscles pop out!” I photographed him earlier this year and I really enjoyed watching and documenting him being the hilarious, thoughtful, wonderful kid that he is.

His parents’ favorite:

We also recently updated my website with some new images in each gallery, and I expanded the Creative Portrait section to include a bit of information. At this point, Creative Portraits generally refer to actor headshots and high school senior pictures, but I’m hoping to start shooting for both conventional and non-conventional adult professionals to help promote their work. For instance, I am very excited to shoot pictures for a yoga instructor later this month! Please contact me if you have an idea for a project!

Here’s the winning shot from my very first actor headshot session that took place earlier this year:

Unconditional Love

My very best friend approached me several months ago with an idea to present her parents with a special photography session for her immediate family. Many conversations and lots of brainstorming later, we decided that we should go all out and do a weekend documentary project at their family cottage up north in Michigan. The main goal is to create an amazing hard cover book telling the story of their family’s “Unconditional Love” (our working title.) I can not even begin to express my excitement for this project… to create such a unique and soulful body of work for their family. It will be a wonderful experience to document a weekend’s worth of adventures and the complex and intertwining relationships of 8 adults, 2 children, 2 dogs, and a cat at their “home away from home.”

I decided to make a handmade book as the gift certificate in order to express all of my thoughts and information I hoped to share. This small project revived so much of my love for making books of all types, and now I really can’t wait to work on designing their professionally printed fine art photography book! I will post images from their session late in the summer, so check back!

Here’s some pictures of the handmade gift certificate booklet. It was presented to their family last weekend on her mom’s 60th birthday and even though I wasn’t there to experience the joy, I received an incredibly positive response. I am so excited!

P.S. Congrats to my mini-session winners!

If you missed the contest this time, keep checking back for new specials and limited time offers!

Mini-Session Give-Away!

To celebrate the start of my blog, I thought I would hold a contest. It’s really quite simple: the first 3 people to email me will receive a complimentary mini-session for 1 or 2 children. Mini-sessions last up to 30 minutes and will result in approximately 15 proofs. This is a great way to obtain a few beautiful photographs of your kids!

The fine print:
*You must be a new client to win.
*Includes complimentary session only; prints may be ordered separately.
*Sessions must take place within about 5 miles of W. Hollywood during the month of June.
*Policies/contract must be signed and agreed to in its entirety.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Here’s a few favorites from a recent session:

Welcome!

I’m so excited to finally have this blog up, so thank you for visiting! There’s plenty of things to share, but I’m most excited about my recent trip to Big Sur, CA. It is definitely my new favorite place and I can’t wait to go back to dig deeper and begin developing a strong body of photography work based on this amazing place. If you’ve never been there, here is an introduction to Big Sur from my point of view.

I plan to start selling my work as fine art prints, so please let me know if there is an image you would love to purchase. Thanks for looking!
