Bass Family (Lake Charlevoix, MI) Part II – The Grandkids

I loved hanging out all weekend with these two. They are a couple of the smartest, sweetest, funniest kids ever. Here’s just a couple of my favorites (out of about a 100 more… not kidding.)

“Mom, I want to wear swimming shorts and no shirt, just like Uncle Mikey… Mom, are these soccer shoes? Uncle Mikey is wearing soccer shoes.” -E.

Isn’t she beautiful!

Love this:

see how they’ve changed…

Your wait is over, Carrie! Here are a few to hold you over until I finish your proofs! =)

I’ve photographed these silly sisters several times now and I love seeing them grow! This first picture was taken at our first photo session in January 2006.

fun lovin’ family…

I had a great time photographing this family in MI. (And I’m proud to say they are part of my extended family, so it was wonderful to see them again… it had been years!) I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves… needless to say, we had a lot of fun and these girls are stunningly beautiful!

Bass Family (Lake Charlevoix, MI) Part I – Fine Art Photographs

This is my first post (of many) from my weekend documentary session for my best friend’s family up north in Michigan. I’m so excited to start sharing some images from this marathon shoot! To read more about the idea behind this project, click here.

I thought I’d start out by sharing some of the fine art photographs I took throughout the weekend to show the beauty that surrounded us. In the posts to come, I’ll share images which describe more about this family, their unique bonds with one another, and their (changing) cottage.

Thanks again for welcoming me into your family; I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Simply Beautiful… isn’t it?

she’s smiling!

I’m back from a very eventful 2 1/2 weeks of travel! I spent 10 days at my parent’s home in Michigan and 4 days at my best friend’s family cottage on Lake Charlevoix (a gorgeous area up north in MI). Then, almost immediately upon my return to LA, my husband and I left for a weekend of camping in the mountains. Camping served as a much needed post-vacation vacation as I was able to just sit in one place and read for two days! My time in Michigan was spent photographing several wonderful families, so I’ll be posting new work every so often throughout the next few weeks as I proof these sessions.

I know this family is probably anxiously awaiting a sneak preview so I’m excited to share a few pictures! The mother of these two sweet girls told me before our session that she doesn’t have any pictures of her little one smiling, and if I could get just one, she would treasure it forever. So, I had a mission and I’m happy to say that you will now have some smiling pictures! I really love this first one…
