pause a while..

i’ve been feeling a bit contemplative lately.. craving peace and solitude. i took these at the grand canyon in june with my diana camera. long, patient exposures. the first one seems more like an impressionistic painting than a photograph and i wish i could dive right in.

“This benefit of seeing…can come only if you pause a while, extricate yourself from the maddening mob of quick impressions ceaselessly battering our lives, and look thoughtfully at a quiet image…the viewer must be willing to pause, to look again, to meditate.” – Dorothea Lange

a great day in la jolla..

i couldn’t have asked for a better day on saturday! i met up with 3 awesome families who vacation together at the la jolla beach and tennis club, and reunited with a couple of (adorable) growing babies i photographed a few months ago. that is really what i love about being a photographer.. meeting new people and keeping in touch with those i’ve already photographed. we had a great time and i loved having the opportunity to document some beautiful moments for such a wonderful group of people!

here’s some images that caught my eye as i began editing today.. although if i included all of my favorites, this blog post would likely never end..

thanks again for inviting me to hang out and take pictures; i had a wonderful time! hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation and your sneak preview! :)
